Sometimes we can learn from past mistakes. I will give you an example; when I ate about a kilo of chocolate and didn’t feel good afterwards I learnt from that and I’ve avoided doing it again!
Sometimes there is not a ‘lesson’ in the past but we spend hours and hours looking for one. I will give you an example; when I started approaching companies looking for work, I began looking for faults in my approach when I when unsuccessful with some companies. However, I took a while to realise that it was more about finding the right client. Success is a numbers game! The same goes for success in work, life and love.
We can often waste time thinking unproductively. I will give you an example; One of my clients admitted to spending a LOT of time thinking about the past. We can’t change the past! I told him “Give up all hopes for a better past”.
Regretting is just like watching a bad movie, again and again. And again. Pointless and painful!
Here are a few of my favourite quotes which inspire me;
"Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for things we did not do that is inconsolable." -Sydney Harris
“It is more painful to live with regret than to live with adventurous mistakes. Take your chances and give it everything you have got, you’ll have no regrets. Regret would keep me up all night. I will not give myself sleepless nights with regret. Pride gives great sleep.”
-Phil McNally, ‘Winning Mentality’
"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do, than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream.”
–Mark Twain
"When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us." -Alexander Graham Bell, Inventor
“Lucky people do not dwell on ill fortune” -Professor Richard Wiseman
“I don’t have much time for the past or the future.” -Eckhart Tolle
“Give up all hopes for a better past.” –Dr Robert Holden
Forget the past. Focus on the Present.
Have a happy PRESENT week!
Keep positive!

PS Review of my book;
“This book has got to be read to rid the mind of any negative thoughts and replace by positive mental attitude.
Although a large proportion of the content of this book relates to sport coaching, it is easy to include the exercises and relate them to everyday life whether that be personal or business goals.
I thoroughly recommend this book to be read by any person wishing to focus where they would like to be or what they would like in the near future. It allows you to believe in your goals and helps you achieve these goals.”
